New laws for the new year

More than 900 new laws were approved last year in California, running the gamut from health, employment and medical benefits to criminal penalties, law enforcement procedures and motor vehicle rules, to education, pet care and children’s welfare. Many of the new laws become enforceable today, Thursday, Jan. 1.

Well the first part of yesterdays inside slider has moved eastward, leaving light snow in the Reno Area, Mammoth Lakes and Mono County. There was little snowfall behind the departing front. The second part has already kicked in, cold arctic air and windy conditions last night into today. Last night some locations around Lake Tahoe saw wind chills down to -20 to -30 brrr!. Today, many locations in Mono and Inyo County will see north winds 10 – 20 mph G 30 thru at least mid day. So wind chill values will be way down there as well. Quite cold temps continue into Friday before high pressure begins to take hold. It will dominate our weather thru Tuesday of next week. So a very slow warming trend is expected.
